LOFTING

Course Description

Lofting is the step between a set of plans being created and building a boat. It involves enlarging the drafted plans to full size on the “mould loft floor.” It includes the three views of the boat for ease of taking full scale patterns and reference for the build.

You will learn start to finish how to turn a table of offsets into a full-scale lines drawing, troubleshoot any discrepancies that might be in the original plans, and take patterns off a loft floor drawing.

In this three-day class, led by boatbuilder Eric Hvalsoe, you will loft a Bill Garden designed “Tom Cat.”
