Visit CWB in South Lake Union

CWB South lake Union Come to The Center for Wooden Boats at South Lake Union to explore boats on and off the water, learn new skills or simply relax on the lake.

Whether you are a tourist visiting Seattle for the weekend, or a full time resident, we have something for everyone. Our Free Public Boat Rides on Sundays are open to all, and experienced sailors can rent boats to go for a spin on Lake Union on their own.

We are a “Living Museum” – our exhibits are the historic wooden boats that you can take rowing or sailing. Come experience history first-hand!

NOTE: CWB IS CLOSED MONDAYS.

Spring Hours: 1/1/2012 - 4/27/2012: 10am - 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday

Summer Hours: 4/28/2012 - 9/30/2012: 10am - 8pm, Tuesday - Sunday

Winter Hours: 10/1/2012 - 12/31/2012: 10am - 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday

CWB in Seattle is open Memorial Day, May 28, 2012, from 10am to 8pm.

Parking

CWB has the use of a limited number of spaces in the parking lot for Lake Union Park, just west of our old lot. These spots are available at no cost for our visitors, volunteers, and students while at CWB. A valid pass must be displayed at all times. Passes can be obtained at the CWB Front Desk when you arrive for your visit. Passes are only good for one visit. Multiple use permits will be issued to students enrolled in classes with multiple sessions, volunteers who have regular shifts at CWB, and other visitors with a verified need for a multiple use permit.

CWB is no longer able to provide parking for those who are not visiting our museum or participating in our programs.

Use Public Transportation To Get to CWB

The Seattle Streetcar, Route 98, runs south of the CWB parking lot! Take it to get to and from CWB and Downtown Seattle.

Routes 17, 26, 28, 30, 71, 72, 73, 74, and 83 come within several blocks of CWB.
