CWB's COUNT ME IN! Initiative.
The Center for Wooden Boats has BIG plans! And the next six months represent one of THE most pivotal times in the history of CWB.
At its original South Lake Union home in Waterway Four this coming October through March, The Center for Wooden Boats will be re-anchoring facilities, upgrading utilities, building new entrances and, as usual, restoring its fleet - all in time for next summer's grand reopening of Lake Union Park.
We need your help NOW, as this critical work to CWB's core facilities needs to take place during the "fish window" - during the late fall and early winter months when it's the least harmful for wildlife to do over-the-water work.
Waterway Four's hands-on projects will include:
- Installing grating in our docks (also known as "day-lighting");
- Removing harmful creosote pilings and installing new steel pilings and pile hoops to firmly secure our floating buildings;
- Moving ALL CWB staff into the Boathouse before the busy season begins; and
- Creating new west and south entrances to CWB from the new Lake Union Park.
For this we need $495,000.
This is THE moment when The Center for Wooden Boats MUST call upon old and new friends alike to increase their efforts and help keep CWB afloat and on course. YOU CAN BE 1 OF 270 VERY SPECIAL SUPPORTERS who help shore up CWB at this pivotal time and carry us into the future! Have your name, your family's name or a heart-felt message permanently affixed in bronze.
