Fishing & Crabbing

at Cama Beach State Park

We encourage fishing and crabbing according to State of Washington rules and seasons. You must have a valid Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife sport fishing license.

We rent crab traps at our Cama Boathouse. We do not rent or sell tackle, lures, or bait, though these may be available at the Cama Beach Store.

Please note: fishing is not allowed at our South Lake Union location.

Current Crabbing Season

The crabbing season typically opens on the Fourth of July weekend, and lasts into late autumn. Please visit the Washington State Area 8-2 Recreational Crab Fishing Website for current hours and status of the season.

Fishing & Crabbing Licenses

All sport crabbers 15 years or older must carry a current Washington fishing license with a crab endorsement on their license, and carry and complete catch record cards to account for all Dungeness crab they catch. They also must return their catch record cards or report on the internet even if they did not go crabbing or catch any crab.
