Youth Sailing at Cama Beach

These four-day sailing day camps at Cama Beach will introduce young sailors to the basics of sailing. Learn and practice tacking, jibing, sail trim, weight balance and capsize recovery, as well as teamwork, communication, observation and patience. Sailors will either sail as a team of 2 in 8 ‘ El Toros or as a crew in 12’ Pelicans, weather depending. No Experience Necessary.

REQUIREMENTS & WHAT TO EXPECT

A swim test is not required for CWB’s youth sailing programs. Lifejackets are required and provided for all participants. The first day of Beginning Sailing includes a capsize drill, where students deliberately flip and right their sailboat next to the dock and under close instructor supervision.
