Beginning Sailing at South Lake Union

In this introduction to sailing, new sailors learn basic theory and terminology to build a foundation of skills. Learn and practice tacking, jibing, sail trim, weight balance and capsize recovery, as well as teamwork, communication, observation and patience. Youth sail in teams of two in our 8′ El Toros. No Experience Necessary.

Summer Camp Sessions | Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm | $410

Session 1: June 26-28, 2017 NOTE this camp runs for 3 days only from Monday through Wednesday. Cost for this camp is $275.

Requirements & What to expect

A swim test is not required for CWB’s youth sailing programs. Lifejackets are required and provided for all participants. The first day of Beginning Sailing includes a capsize drill, where students deliberately flip and right their sailboat next to the dock and under close instructor supervision.
