CWB Welcomes Youth Programs Supervisor
As the summer season nears, we’re excited to welcome David Lloyd as our new Youth Programs Supervisor at our South Lake Union location! David has been volunteering and working at CWB since he moved to Seattle back in the summer of 2005. He started at CWB as part of our Youth Sailing program when he was just 10 years old.
He then volunteered during the cold winter months, bilging Umiaqs, going on “cobweb control”, and a number of other volunteer tasks. In the Summer of 2009, he started as a Junior Instructor, and in 2012 came on as a Youth Sailing Instructor. This season, he’s advancing to the position of Youth Programs Supervisor.
David will take charge of the youth camp and pond boat programs in this seasonal position, including training of seasonal staff, developing woodworking curriculum and delivering sailing camps.
It is both a great honor and privilege to have grown up at CWB and be taking a leadership role here now. I look forward to working with everyone at CWB this season!
A full-time student at the University of Washington, David will be graduating this Spring with a degree in Law, Societies and Justice. Looking forward, he hopes to be a Legal Assistant or Junior Paralegal in areas of litigation surrounding civil rights, with a possibility of law school sometime in the future.
We’re excited to have David on staff again this summer, and can’t wait for summer!
