Boat for Sale: 1926 Cruiser Resolute

Update: We sold Resolute! Find more Boats for Sale here.

At The Center for Wooden Boats, we frequently accept boat donations. These boats are sometimes added to our collection of classic wooden boats, but more often, they are sold to help us support our hands-on, on-the-water programs for kids of all ages.

Boats for sale are stored at our Seattle location, either on the docks or in off-site storage. Boats on our docks may be viewed anytime during CWB open hours. Simply ask for the vessel at our Front Desk to receive the keys. Boats that are located at off-site storage may be viewed by appointment.

One vessel in this collection is our 1926 Blanchard Raised-Deck Cruiser, Resolute. In 1924, Seattle boatbuilder Norman J Blanchard collaborated with naval architect Leigh Coolidge to design a raised-deck day cruiser: power boat with large foredecks and aft cockpit pilot houses. Twenty-five, including the Resolute, were built between 1924 and 1930.

The design became very popular and was copied by other yards. Lake Union Dry Dock later came out with a larger version, called the Lake Union Dreamboat, and that name has been applied to all boats of this design, though strictly speaking, Blanchard Raised-Deck Cruisers are not Lake Union Dreamboats.

Resolute is currently moored on our docks in South Lake Union. She’s 36′ long with power and electrical updates, and ready to cruise!
