Happy Hour for Good Benefits At-Risk Youth Programs

The Center for Wooden Boats works closely with community partners to help build brighter futures for youth.  On August 21st from 5:30pm-7:30pm the Rotary Club of Lake Union hosts its “Happy Hour for Good” at CWB in South Lake Union with jazz guitar music, beverages and snacks to benefit YouthCare Orion Center, who provides programs and services for runaway, homeless and at-risk youth.  The Orion Center and CWB are working closely to expand employment-based learning opportunities that build skills, confidence and awareness of employment opportunities in maritime industry, and funding from the evening will directly support that effort.

The recommended donation for this Thursday starts at $25 and you can RSVP here.

Last year the Rotary funded CWB’s new Caseworkers Guide to Maritime Industry with input from caseworkers at Orion Center and other youth service agencies. Are you inspired to support this work?  Please join us Thursday evening or contact CWB’s Executive Director Betsy Davis (betsy@cwb.org or 206-390-0381).
