Third Friday Speaker Series: Chris Cunningham

Join us on Friday, October 21, from 7pm – 10pm in The Center for Wooden Boats’  Boathouse on Lake Union in Seattle. The October Speaker is Chris Cunningham, who has built a variety of small boats powered by oar, paddle or sail. He has cruised them 7,000 miles – and will talk about his experiences, as well as the Garvey he has built with a pop-up cabin, wood stove and hot and cold running water.

The Third Friday Speaker Series at CWB has run continuously every month since the early days of CWB in the late 1970’s. They began as a forum for wooden boat enthusiasts to gather, discuss ideas, inspire each other and dream, and were held in the tiny living room of Dick and Colleen Wagner’s houseboat. The tradition is still alive and well, and the somewhat more ‘formalized’ talks continue to offer a monthly gathering for CWB Members, Volunteers and the general public. Come and hear a wooden boat enthusiast share boat tales – and prepare to be inspired!

These gatherings are free of charge, but donations to cover the cost of wine and snacks are welcomed.

Hope to see you there!

This looks like the perfect boat to get on and just run away.

    What do you think?
