CWB’s Free Boat Rides Featured on Seattle’s Child

Every Sunday afternoon we offer the chance for the public to get out on the water for free. It’s part of our mission to make the water and boats accessible to all, and we often refer to ourselves as a ‘yacht club for everyone’.  That’s why we were thrilled when we noticed that Seattle’s Child Magazine wrote a review about our free rides, which you can read here.

There’s no better time than summer to get out on the water and feel the wind on your face, but if you’re planning on coming down on a Sunday afternoon, make sure to be early. We offer rides on a first-come, first-served basis, and start taking sign-ups when we open at 10am. Our lists have  filled by 10:30 more that a few times, so you really should plan to come early. You can hang out and walk the docks, or head to one of South Lake Union’s awesome eateries for lunch, just be sure to return at least 15 minutes prior to your boat’s departure from the docks.

Many, many thanks to all of our awesome volunteers for making our free rides program successful. Volunteers maintain our boats, captain and crew our free rides, and help visitors sign-up at the front desk. We are so grateful! Learn more about volunteering at CWB.
