Seattle Boat Show: Day 1

A child enjoys the CWB model boat pond at the Seattle Boat Show.

Today was the first day of the Seattle Boat Show! Qwest Convention Center has been flooded by a sea of shiny fiberglass — all high, dry and on-display. In the spirit of keeping things on-the-water, CWB put together a pond for the occasion. Tucked away in the southeast corner of the West Hall, a crew of volunteers manages a booth and keeps an eye on the 15’ pond complete with a fleet of pond boats. Passers-by seem to relish the change of pace and compete with their kids for boat-time.

If you want an excuse to take it all in for free, there are still volunteer shifts open (if you’re already a CWB Volunteer). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please visit our website to learn more. Or, contact Matt mnesheim@cwb.org for more information.
