Thanks for making 'Blue Hawaii' a success!

The night of Saturday, February 13, the fragrance of plumeria and orchid leis, ocean breezes and palm trees hung in the air at the Swedish Cultural Center as CWB held one of its most successful auctions ever!

In keeping with the evening’s Blue Hawaii theme, auction guests turned out in their finest luau wear. They were welcomed with colorful leis by CWB’s high energy volunteers and staff who transformed the classic hometown venue into a tropical oasis overlooking the sparkling winter lights of Lake Union.

John Curley enjoyed his debut as our auctioneer: “I had a hoot of a good time. The attendees were passionate, funny and oh-so-committed to the future of the success of The Center for Wooden Boats. As an auctioneer you never know how the night will go until the first couple of bids come flashing up. But I could tell right away we all were in for a special evening as soon as the first item went on the block. What fun!”

Many, many thanks go out to everyone who supported this event - from the many months of planning ([Auction Chair] Denise Snow, what would we do without you?) to the final packing up and putting away. More than $100,000 was raised in support of CWB’s programs. The funds raised and the happy memories of an evening well enjoyed will support us throughout the coming year!

Plan on reserving early for the March 26, 2011, celebration; you won’t want to miss out on another fun-filled event!
